When the Desert Force crowd witnessed Mohamed Ghorabi knocking out Ibrahim El-Sawi, everyone knew this new force was here to stay. It was not surprising when Team Shogun manager Louai Kiblawi decided to send his best to take part of Al Academia reality show. Fighting at Middleweight, the killer Mohamed Ghorabi cut down to Welterweight for this show, making him a lethal force at 77kg.

Ghorabi opened up the tryouts with a Liver kick KO to enter the house! That was no surprise for anyone; Ghorabi was one of the top contenders to win the welterweight ranking.

Ghorabi then moved on to face the lebanese Joeshwa Mortada, who had lost in the opening round, then had to fight again to get a free spot, in what was the hardest fight of his career, or at least the longest one reaching the third round. Joshua being the underdog, he was not expected to make any damage but little did we know. Ghorabi managed to finish this fight in the 3rd Via TKO, adding yet another finish to his record.

In the semi finals, he faced Al Dawansy in one of the best fights in the Al Academia. Al Dawansy managed to win the first round, but it was a quite tight game. However, this didn’t stop Ghorabi from releasing the beast inside of him. As the second round started, Ghorabi went all in on Al Dawansy, brutally beating him with a barage of unanswered punches, and finishing the fight with a heavy knee to his opponent’s head. That was it.

I had personally expected Ghorabi to reach the finals as he is, undoubtedly, one of the best strikers, and trains in one of the top Gyms in the middle east. The MMA fans and supporters will know what turn the game will take in Al Academiya Finale that will take place on the 27th of January in Amman, Jordan.
